To say that Aravis was fascinated by the Olympics would be gross understatement. Once she had sat down to watch, she had been unable to tear herself away for very long. The abundance of ice and snow held her interest well enough, and the grace the athletes had demontrated had only compounded this

"This stuff sure goes on," Hayley remarked, settling into a chair with a puzzled look on her face, fuzzy bunny slippers on her feet, and a bag of Cheeto Puffs in her hand. "What is it tonight, ice dancing?"

"Skating," Aravis said distractedly, sparing the girl a glance before returning her gaze to the television. "I think that's what it's called. They're moving quickly on ice."

"Well, that's probably skating, yeah. But the dumb kind where they have to go as fast as possible. I like it better when they're doing tricks and stuff. I mean, it's nice and all, but it's not like it's a useful sport, right?" Hayley said, between munching Cheetos.

Aravis raised a brow at her. "The dancing bit? No, I don't think it's very useful. It's quite pretty -- though I dislike how...shiny the costumes seem to be -- but this," she nodded towards the television, "seems very useful indeed. Suppose you were fleeing something on ice!"

"Oh thank god," Bobby said, as he made his way into the common room. "A sport that's not curling."

"Curling?" Aravis echoed, now deeply confused. She'd missed it earlier. "Do you mean that...hair? As a sport?"

"No, no," Bobby assured her. "Although, actually, it's about just as dull."

"I can't imagine that any of these games would be dull," she said, looking mildly disappointed. "Even if I don't understand how to score them."

"You're watching sports?" Ben asked, walking into the common room.

There was an unspoken, teasing "really?" at the end of that sentence.

"Snow," Aravis explained, pointing to the screen. "And look how quickly they move! And excuse you, I happen to enjoy certain sports."

Ben glanced at the skates. "Wait, those don't have engines? Astral."

"Exactly!" Aravis said, grinning. "They move faster than Bree at a sprint, I think."
