Sixth Floor, Thursday Evening -- Merlin's Birthday Party

Jan 21, 2010 20:25

If Arthur had still been back at Camelot, the idea of holding celebrations for a servant's birthday would have seemed preposterous. But he wasn't, and it didn't, and if he were really honest with himself he'd admit he enjoyed it (or at least in as much as it involved picking out presents that made him fret some on the inside and yelling at people ( Read more... )

Hell yeah. Hell yeah.

"And Firekeeper. She seemed excited about it as well."

Francine thought about that, then her eyes lit up. "Ooh, Blind Seer can eat it too."

"So we'll need to see about getting her a naming day so you can make another!" Yes, it was all for the wolves. Really.

"Well, she doesn't know when hers is," Merlin replied slowly.

Nonsense. Obviously her dying parents filed a birth certificate with the wolves!

...Or not. "Huh. I guess she wouldn't. " Francine frowned, not in full-on mom mode but heading that way. You'd think the Kestral people would have given her a party at some point. "Well, that won't do!"

"Exactly," Merlin said, nodding in less mom mode, but still as enthusiastically. "We'll need to figure one out."

Well, now that Firekeeper understood why Merlin had suggested Blind Seer have some of the cake, she headed over and grabbed two slices. One for her, and one for Blind Seer. Placing the Royal Wolf's plate on the floor where he could reach it, she grabbed a fork and dug into her own slice with enthusiasm.

Francine grinned. "I thought you guys might end up over here." She looked down at Blind Seer. "Sorry it's cooked, but there's levels of meat-loving that even Merlin won't go to."

If the way Blind Seer's tail swished back and forth was any indication, he didn't much mind that it had been cooked.

"Most parties does not even have food he can eat," Firekeeper pointed out. Of course, Blind Seer didn't actually go to most parties. This was an exception.

"We should start doing better about that," Francine decided. "All parties should be wolf-friendly." As long as the wolves were friendly.
