5th Floor Common Room, Sunday Afternoon

Oct 18, 2009 13:41

Even with the excursions home and to London, the week on the near-empty island had felt too long. Jack was more than ready to see his friends again as he settled into the common room. He was paging through one of his history books, but he kept getting distracted by the meta Scrubs marathon on TV. The characters were bizarre, annoying ... and ( Read more... )

Leto rarely had a reason to visit the fifth floor common room, but he had been on his way up to the roof, and noticing someone was in there, he stopped for a moment.

He hadn't seen Jack in a while, and talking to him was usually interesting.

"Watching something interesting?" Leto doubted that he himself would find it so, but if Jack didn't want to be interrupted he didn't want to disturb.

"Funny, at least," Jack said, glancing up with an idle smile. "Though I hope it's not meant as an accurate depiction of modern medical care. Hello, Leto. Good break?"

"I don't think I'm familiar with it," he replied, smiling back. "Hello. And yes, it was a good break, but I have to admit I prefer to be back." He approached Jack. "It seems that there is a fascination with spending holidays immersed in water."

"It's a sitcom," Jack enunciated carefully. He was still getting used to the terminology, but he'd be damned if he'd show that. "So there was swimming, then? I'm not sorry I missed it. I'm not much for the woods."

Diana had deposited Samuel on her bed and was now just wondering around, looking for something to do. "Oh hey, it's that show." Like that.

"That show," Jack agreed, and gave Diana a pleading look. "It's not meant to be realistic, is it? I'd like to know that before I get sick here."

Diana shook her head. "Nah. It's a comedy thing. Watch Casa if you want something a tiny bit more realistic. Tiny bit, they're still way too peoplefied to be real hospitals."

"Peoplefied?" Jack asked, more amused by the neologism than confused. "How was your break, Diana?"

Fresh from a pretty awesome week spent getting to know his brother better, Andy was back and in a totally awesome mood. He dumped his stuff in his room and then went wandering. Spotting his roommate on his wanders, he headed into the common room and flopped down on the couch.

"Hey," he greeted him. "Something wrong with the CR on our floor?"

The mun can't remember where her characters live?

"Too much time in it this week," Jack said, with a slight smile. "I felt like exploring. I think they're all about the same, though."

"How was your week?"

"Pretty awesome. Went and visited my twin brother, Webber. Spent the time getting to know each other. You?"

"A few days at home, and then a side trip to London in my world in this time," Jack answered. "I've been home since Thursday night, though."

He gave Andy a curious look. "How was your brother?"

It wasn't Fight Club time yet, but Rose had less than nothing to do between getting back and then.

Thus it was wandering the halls time. And wandering into the Common Room and flopping down on the couch when she saw her friend. "Missed me?"

"You weren't here?" Jack was trying to sound cool, but the grin that took over his face provided counter-evidence.

"Yep, you totally did," she decided. "I know, it's hard."

"You caught me," Jack sighed. "I barely made it through, pining away every second for you as I was."
