Zayne walked into the common room and gave Jaina a smile. "Morning. How are you, Jaina?"

"How hard is it to make eggs?" she asked.

"I don't think they're that hard, but I've never really tried to cook them," Zayne said. "So I could be completely wrong."

Jaina surveyed the mess again. "They're hard. Just so you know."

"Hey! Day two of Parents Weekend and, according to radio, you haven't killed anybody yet!" Lois said after she spotted Jaina. "I'm so proud."

"Like I'd let murder and body-hiding make radio," Jaina said. "I thought you knew me."

"Oh, come on, the squirrels are pretty good," Lois said. "I would think there at least would be a mention of missing persons."

"On a day like yesterday it'd be easy to miss stuff, especially when there were bribes or threats of roasted squirrel involved," she pointed out. "And now I feel like I've missed my opportunity."

"It's good to know I'm not alone in sucking at cooking," Bobby remarked as he wandered in to the common room. In search of cereal, of course, because he knew better than to try using the stove.

"I don't suck!" Jaina protested. "I just... should stick to throwing pasta in boiling water. Yeah, okay, I suck."

"If it makes you feel better I'm not even allowed to make pasta," Bobby offered, rummaging through the cupboards until he found the most sugary cereal possible.

"Thank you for being worse than me," Jaina said sincerely. "It makes me feel a lot better."

So far, this weekend was actually looking up for Effy. Without her parents, and with Tony and Panda was about the best scenario she could've asked for. About time she got that kind of luck.

Even on a weekend like this, food was still needed, even if Effy was in no way going to be cooking anything. More of a 'scavenge from the cupboards' sort. Her poor guests were probably going to have to fend for themselves.

"Jaina," she offered up in greeting, as she wandered in. "Alright?"

"Mostly, so far," she replied. Despite the mess. "How about you?"

Effy nodded, glancing sideways at Jaina's 'mess', as she went to find something simple like bread for toast for herself.

"Pretty sweet," she said. "Parents had better things to do." Thank god. "Got my brother instead."
