Sep 24, 2009 08:55

There was hopefully no way that Ino could begrudge Cal having her party a day late, especially since it was a far cry from being a day short. The food he had planned caused him to get some use out of that sixth floor kitchen and space, and he'd been to the task ever since he finished with Oceanography class in hopes to get it finished before ( Read more... )

It's not a party unless there's mingling. It's just a law of a nature.

Hannibal didn't have a class so that meant he could spend as much time as he wanted at Ino's birthday party. Yesterday had been a damn good day and he was pleased to see his good mood lingering.

Didi didn't know Ino, but she knew that if there was a party, she wanted to be there, especially if it was her free day. So there she was, placidly nibbling a cupcake as she considered the crowd.

Joan certainly wasn't going to miss Ino's party.

From tzatziki to olive bread, spanakopita to avgolemono, Cal has not spared himself in providing a veritable Greek feast, even worse than Wednesdays at the diner.

[[ and selections of Greek food and their quality are completely moddable! ]]

"Hey, Cal. Told you I'd track you down." Dinah grabbed some of the spanakopita and a cupcake, and grinned. "Everything back to the way it was."

Well, the cupcakes, anyway. Cal had managed to try a new twist on the idea of the birthday cake to fit the Greek feast idea and had at least one table dedicated to his baklava cupcake creations.

Liir looked left, then right, and finally made his way in and slipped the cake in between the baklava cupcakes. He kept himself from taking one only just barely.

Karla was quite happily munching on both cupcakes and regular cake. They were both incredibly good, which meant she had to keep having a smidgen more of each to try to decide which was better.

There's also, of course, a table for leaving presents for the birthday girl.

Hannibal thought his gift was hilarious. It was shoddily wrapped but still wrapped!

Ino laughed when she unwrapped this present. "Does that mean I get a kiss?" she asked teasingly. "Or will Angela kill me?"

Anemone had a brightly wrapped box and handmade card that she left on the table.

This party is basically the antithesis of a surprise party, so she won't be surprised to see you, but, once she pings in, she'd probably love to hear your birthday wishes for her.

Probably love? Try utterly adore and you'd be closer.

Hugs would be even better, really, but for the moment Ino was totally here and totally happy.

...and maybe contemplating ways she could steal all of the baklava cupcakes and hide them from everyone else. They looked so good.

From the fuss, it wasn't too hard to figure out who the birthday girl was, so Didi made her way over to say hello before the party got too hectic.

"Hi," she said. "Ino, right? I'm Didi. Thanks for inviting everyone to your party. Happy birthday."

Ino had had nothing to do with the invitations, but hey, she probably would've done the same so...

"Yup, I'm Ino--nice to meet you, and well," Ino laughed, "the more the merrier, right? What'd be a party without a lot of people?"
