The sky was threatening rain, but it had been hot enough that a little rain actually might not be all that bad. Besides, there was a nice breeze that felt just heavenly

Claire was still feeling restless and like being outside. Since she had been up to the roof last night, she decided to head out to the deck this evening. It looked like the sky might open up and pour at any moment, but she always did love a good storm.

"Hi," she said, settling into a deck chair. "Enjoying the potentially stormy weather?"

"I'm actually kind of half-hoping it rains," Peyton admitted with a smile. "At least I'd be cool."

"Nothing like a good storm," Claire agreed.

"Yeah, can't disagree there. And when it's been this hot, rain can only be an improvement!"

"Hey Peyton," Jennifer said, sitting down.

"...should I be getting a plastic poncho?"

"Nah, it it rains we'll sell tickets to the guys for a hot t-shirt contest," Peyton teased. "Probably make a mint."

"And if the rain pisses me of, we'll really draw a crowd," Jennifer joked.

"See, there's the spirit!" Peyton laughed.

Ellie didn't mind if she'd end up getting rained on tonight, considering the heat, so she headed out to the deck.

"Hey," she said to the girl she didn't know, giving her a small smile.

"Hey," Peyton said with a wave, "Come on, sit down. Maybe it will rain on us and we'll get some relief from the heat."

"We can only hope," Ellie replied, taking a seat. "I am so not used to humidity."

"North Carolina gets pretty humid, but the sea breeze always helps," Peyton said. "Actually, if I had more motivation I would have gone to the beach tonight."

Elle had camped out on the deck and was now trying to decide if she really wanted to stay outside. Since, y'know, the impending rain was really not gonna do her any good.

That'd explain her scowling at the sky like she'd been doing for the past fifteen minutes.

"Not a fan of storms?" Peyton asked.

"They're not very good for my health."
