Karla was nervous. Well, that wasn't much of a surprise. Karla had been nervous all day. But this was a new and different kind of nervous. Now, she was about to host a party, which she had never done, in a world that was still foreign to her, and for many girls she did not know very well. It was enough to unsettle even the strongest nerves ( Read more... )

"Am I the first one here?" Triela asked when she arrived.

She looked rather rumpled. And while the rumpled coat and fly-away hair might not have looked all that bad, given that Triela showed herself in public with either of them she looked something of a mess.

But she was there, and that counted for something.

"I think you are. And thank you for coming." Triela looked like Karla felt.

"It sounded interesting," Triela said, trying to sound casual.

She eyed Karla for a minute. "I think you're supposed to relax. I mean, I'm sure everyone will have fun." Or at least get lots of junk food.

Triela had actually had a silent debate with herself about whether it was worth attending considering her mood, but she'd said she would and she wasn't really injured, so that was that.

She hadn't change clothes, though, and that meant she was wearing the same suit she'd had on for the past two days. It was wrinkled, and her hair was a mess, and while neither of these facts might have meant much for most people, Triela almost never allowed herself to be seen in public in such a state.

At least she'd taken the time to change the bandage on her left hand.

Leda looked at Triela curiously. "Looks like you've already been to a party."

Triela's head came up jerkily, as if she hadn't been paying attention. "Huh?"

Leda made herself a glass of chocolate milk. It was a little too early yet to break out the Peca.

Emma had a drink and chocolates, and really, that's a girl ever needed. Dinner be damned, this was a party!

Karla produced a bottle of wine and showed it to Emma with a sly smile. "Want some?" she teased.

Jack was hungry. And oblivious. So that little Girls Only sign wasn't even noticed as he walked into the room, intent on getting something from the fridge-y area.

He might have noticed the horde of girls piled in the room, laughing, eating and gossiping in various forms of pajamas. Especially since his entrance brought the entire party to a screeching halt.

Oh, that. That giant teeming mass of estrogen and blondes (who would have thought so many blondes in one place?) who were staring daggers at him?

He did kinda notice them. He stopped in his tracks, gave a half-wave, and said the most eloquent thing he could think of.

"Uh..."
