Okay, yes, this sucked. She'd been in a surprisingly good mood earlier.

But, there was nothing to dampen spirits like being woken at 2am with a loud, shrilling and irritatingly persistent alarm, only to be made to stand there outside in the cold in just pajamas and a cardigan for god knows how long.

Angela would be over here, smothering yawns and shivering until they were let back in.

"Think the hotel would let me book a room if I left my money in the burning school?" Brooke pouted pouted, needing to complain at someone.

"God, I wish," Angela sighed, pulling that cardigan around herself a little tighter. It was cold, damn it. "I could so go for that right now."

"If someone pulled the alarm, I'm killing them. I'm going to pull the alarm off the wall and beat them to death with it," she decided, pulling her hands inside her sweatshirt sleeves.

Brooke was a little more violent than usual today, apparently.

It wasn't this week that had Buffy in a bad mood. No, she could deal with that, no problem. It was that she'd just gotten to sleep.

So it was a grumbly Buffy out on the front lawn, wishing she'd brought a coat.

Emmett had already been awake, naturally, so he was looking pretty goddamn cheerful at the excitement.

"Did you do this?" It was a legitimate assumption when the person being asked was smiling like that.

"Did I start a fire?" Emmett asked. "No."

"There's a fire?!" Merlin really needed to learn more about this time. Really now.

Ino was in her jammies. Ino had been sleeping, and was now wide awake, on the lawn, and generally Not Pleased.

"How long is this supposed to last?" she demanded of the area at large.

Look, okay, when you got up at four every morning? Those last two hours were priceless.

"It's already lasted too long," Dōjima snapped, trying to keep a hold on both blanket and cat. "You'd think they'd at least evacuate us into the school, to stay warm."

"No kidding," she declared, spinning to face Dōjima-san. "Maybe we ought to he-"

A beat.

"Did you need a hand?"

"I should have grabbed her cat-carrier," Dōjima sighed, shifting Alea's weight. "But trying to stuff panicking cat in a box was not going to happen."

"Could you just hold her for a moment while I wrap the blanket better?" she suggested hopefully. "I wasn't exactly planning on a trip outside." Just, possibly, a trip across the hall to surprise a boyfriend.

Hannibal, upon hearing the alarm, had all but fallen out of bed and made sure he was wearing pants (he was) before shuffling out of the dorm and onto the lawn.

Okay, so he'd forgotten his shirt. Not a big deal. It wasn't that cold out.

It was a little cold out.

Not that he'd admit that. He was tough, he could take it and it wasn't like he could go back in to the building when the fire department was here.
