Hurley was on his way back from work when he poked his head into the common room.

"Hey," he greeted. "I don't think we've met and stuff."

"Hiya," Sookie said, tossing off a little wave as she stirred. "I'm Sookie. Are you new, too?"

She had her mental shielding up as a matter of course. Dorms were waaaay too populated for her to feel too comfortable just yet.

"Oh, not really," Hurley said. "But I've like, only been here one term. Enough to grow to love the place, I guess. I'm Hurley."

"Good to meet you, Hurley," she said, smiling over at him. "Where're you from originally?"

After the picnic started to wind down, Priestly set about exploring the dorm building. He'd located his new room, put his stuff away, and scoped out the room numbering for the two ladies expecting visits, and was now following his nose to the fourth floor common room.

He smiled when he spotted one of the girls from the shuttle. "Hey. Smells good."

Priestly flashed Hurley a thumbs up. "Thanks, man."

He hadn't changed since the picnic at all, so he was still blue mohawked, and dressed in his kilt and his "veggieburger = veggiemurder" tshirt.

"...and points for, like, pulling off the kilt. I don't got the legs for that," he joked.

"God, I'm hungry, what's that smell?" Yeah, she didn't eat much this afternoon, and if someone was cooking? She was all over that.

"Jambalaya," Sookie answered, smiling over at the new girl. "And berry cobbler. Sorry, I got kinda homesick and cooked to compensate. You can help yourself, though."

"It smells wonderful," she said and walked over to help herself. "You're new right? I'm Amber, in 409."

"Sookie, 415," she offered, grinning at her. "Brand new as of today. I take it you're not?"

Romeo paused on the fourth floor and decided he smelled dinner, if he could talk his way into it.

"Good evening," he greeted the blonde girl at the stove. "It smells wonderful in here. What are you making?"

"Jambalaya," she said, waving at the boy she didn't know yet. "Hi! Help yourself, if you'd like."

"I'd be honored to," Romeo said, finding a bowl and filling it. "I'm Romeo. Are you one of the new students?"

Seregil had given the picnic a pass, but had ventured out of his room and the smell of food had lured him into the common room a floor down. "Hello," he said, smiling at the new faces.

"Hi!" Sookie said, waving at the boy. "If you're hungry, you're welcome to help yourself. I made way too much."

"You sound like my brother," she commented with a laugh. "Um, I'm Sookie. Are you new, too?"
