Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Nov 12, 2008 17:58

Nine o'clock found Tony in his usual Wednesday night spot on the couch, along with half a bomb bottle of Coke and a bag of microwave popcorn he'd snagged from the third floor.

There hadn't been a new episode last week because of the American elections. This week, if Tony remembered right, should be the one with the immortal French monk.

Amber kitty slept more than Amber normally did, which was saying quite a lot. Bored as hell and not really wanting to disturb her napping, Cal went looking for interesting people in common rooms.

The floor below his looked a bit too interesting for his tastes right now, so he kept going down one more and found the second floor a little more suited to his needs.

"Hey, Tony," he flopped on a couch. "What's on?"

"Darkest Night," Tony said, offering Cal the bag of popcorn.

Cal easily reached for a handful. "Is it as bad as that Rumor Gal show I walked in on the other day?"

Tony considered that. "Different kind of bad, I think," he said. "Darkest Night's a vampire detective show. The back-stabbing tends to be more literal."

Nine o'clock also found Firekeeper and Blind Seer in their usual respective spots on the couch.

Although this time they were also accompanied by a small baby Ewok, that was thankfully, at the moment, sleeping.

"Tony," she said with a nod. Blind Seer offered a short bark of his own in greeting.

"Hey," Tony said. He nodded at the Ewok. "What's that?"

"Puppy," Firekeeper said. "Skywalker say is kind called 'Wokling'."

Tony tilted his head to look at it. It was pretty cute, if you were into small furry things. "Who's Skywalker and why are you carrying it around?"

Blair happened to be walking by when she heard the sound of the TV. She peered in. "What are you watching?"

"It's a vampire detective show called Darkest Night." He paused, then added. "Or alternatively, a television, depending on where you're from."

"I know what a television is," Blair said, rolling her eyes. "Vampire detective show? Aren't there a thousand of those?"

"It's kind of its own subgenre. But this one," Tony said with a mixture of pride and sarcasm, "is the highest rated syndicated vampire detective show currently airing!"

Francine, slightly sugar-overloaded from leftover gummi dolphins, fish, crocodiles and the penguins she'd decided were too adorable to donate to the thing that she hadn't been part of last night, decided to hit the nearest inhabited common room to see if she couldn't spread the wealth around a bit.

Which meant she only had about three gummi penguins in her mouth when she carried the half full bags into the 2nd floor common room and asked, "Ohh, whuh awe we waffing?"

"Gummi penguinsh!" Francine chewed a little harder, because gummy, then grinned and held up the bag. "Want some? They taste like peach!"

"Sure!" Tony said. "Want some popcorn?" He offered her the bag he was holding.
