River looked up at the sky. Once it got dark enough the stars would be visible. She smiled. That would be decoration enough. The music was already playing and she tooka a few dance steps, then spun around, closing her eyes.

It was River's party, though. He felt obliged to show up. He'd even come up with some new choreography just for the occasion.

River approached Jeff without any senaking up from behind. She didn't want to make him more nervous, after all. "You'll see the stars tonight," she said, looking up at the sky.

"It's always good to see the aliens coming," Jeff said. He was still a little shell-shocked from the thing with That Weird (or Evil) Bloke Andrew yesterday.

Apart from the usual moddable snacks there is a plate of cinnamon and mustard cookies. The punch smells like it's mostly fruit juices, but also something else, hard to define, with makes it rather... odd. You might have to ask River what's in it. It's definitely non-alcoholic though. For the less brave there aresodas and mineral waters too.

Which he quickly coughed up and made several retching noises. "Oh that's absolutely terrible."

It's why River organised this in the first place, after all! There is a CD-player and a pile of totally moddable CDs.

It took Jeff a moment to mentally prepare himself and go over the steps again, but after a few minutes he walked into the dance area and broke it down. If by 'broke it down', you meant performing a staggeringly music-inappropriate coordinated dance effort that incorporated movements that recalled the praying mantis, weirdly random crunches, and something that seemed to be a reenactment of the opening title sequence of 'Bitterwoman'.

He was really proud of it. And oddly well-coordinated.

River just watched, clearly impressed. Perhaps Jeff's talent wasn't quite that of a dancer, but he compensated that with a unique creativity and by overcoming any anxiety he might have for dancing in public.

Jeff grinned at River as he danced. While making a pirouette, he did the robot in her direction in greeting.
