Cassandra rather liked her new roommate. Meg was a genuinely nice person, and friendly in a way that reminded Cass of someone from another life

After potentially planning a new piece, A.J. discovered one of his larger brushes missing and went up to the roof to see if he'd left it there during his big bout of super emo painting. "Hey, new girl," he said with a lift of his hand and a wave when she spotted her, smiled a little, and went poking around where the canvas had been to see if the brush was still there.
Cassandra stopped stretching when he came up and turned to watch him. She waved back, her answer soft, "Hey." Her eyes followed him across the roof curiously.
Nope, not there. A.J. frowned a bit, hands on his hips as he surveyed the area, wondering where it might have gone.
"You...haven't happened to have seen a paintbrush around here, have you?" he asked, turning toward the new girl. "About...yay big, probably stained dark blue?"
She closed her eyes, thinking for a moment, then opened them and shook her head. "No," she said in a tone of voice which meant that it wasn't up there as much as she hadn't seen it.
Cassandra stopped in mid-movement, one leg extended in a long lunge, and looked over. "Hey," she lifted a hand in greeting, watching the other girl curiously.
"Yeah," Cassandra nodded. "I haven't really had much space to stay in shape recently." She shrugged and waved a hand to indicate the roof, "There's lots up here."
Bart had yet to have a class this week and he was slowly going insane from boredom. Not even work and rearranging things in funny ways to annoy Turtle helped.
So, he headed up to the roof, idly wondering how fast it would take to fill up water balloons to throw at people. You never knew when that would come in handy.
Oh! Person! Bart waved cheerfully at the new girl. "Hi!"
Cassandra blinked once. Twice. Then she frowned, "Bart?" The boy certainly moved like Bart... that barely restrained sense to every step. But he certainly didn't look like he recognized her.
Haku climbed up onto the roof and nodded at the girl there, doing stretches and made his way to the railing. "Nice evening," he smiled in his highly efeminate way.
She nodded back politely, watching the way he moved. "Yeah." Her movements slowed down, but didn't stop completely. She was a bit distracted because Haku moved like some people she knew from... before.
