The library was starting to look a little lived-in, with all the researchers running about. John had brought a box of donuts and thrown it on one table, and chaos was reigning as the books were piling up

One of the computers had been moved on to a desk off to the side, out of the immediate ebb-and-flow of traffic. A faint purple glow could be seen from the monitor, and a window was open with a video call to Dr. Tannis' lab in Pandora.

"I'd like to really skew that balance in our favor, so bear with me a second, Doctor," Jessica said. "From what I've seen of the vending machines, the weapons seem pretty customizable. Do you think we could customize them further to give us an advantage here? We do have some pretty capable engineers in Fandom."
Re: Talk to Dr. Tannis - Researchpandora_goodiesDecember 12 2013, 22:13:29 UTC
"Yes, I do think that would be possible." And it was vaguely science, so Tannis kind of perked up at it. Humans were manageable when science was involved. "What kinds of resources do you have available?"
Re: Talk to Dr. Tannis - ResearchcraftyladypartsDecember 12 2013, 22:24:03 UTC
"We have stores here that either have or can quickly get anything you can imagine," Jessica said. "And you're a scientist in another world, so I bet you can imagine a lot of things."
Re: Talk to Dr. Tannis - Researchpandora_goodiesDecember 12 2013, 23:29:44 UTC
"Well, that is true, I am quite brilliant." Not quite what Jessica had said, but close enough. "This is something that should be looked into further. There should be some pooling of resources."
Re: Talk to Dr. Tannis - ResearchcraftyladypartsDecember 12 2013, 23:40:08 UTC
"If you have any specific ideas, I'm sure I can find some people more than happy to do some product testing by shooting at Jack's men. I'll send you detailed reports on how they worked and if we came up with anything useful that you might be able to use," Jessica said.

"I recommend attempting to combine several weapons into one," Tannis replied after a thoughtful pause. "I've always wanted to see what a corrosive shock weapon looks like!"

Ugh, people. At least they weren't actually in the lab with Dr. Tannis, but it was still unpleasant for her, even via a video call. That hustling and bustling and people randomly coming in to see if they could be helpful, ugh.
Maybe she could make some of them leave, at least for a while. She checked her data on the town and its stores and services, then looked up at the camera, and into the library.
"Excuse me, young man." A beat. "Well, I am relatively sure you are one, anyway."

Isaac had been torn between laying low and wanting to help during this weird ass crisis so it had led to him laying low in public. Which did not turn out too well considering he was now being spoken to.
"Uh...hi?" Smooth. "Yes, I'm a young man." Smoother.
Re: Talk to the Dr. Tannis: SIDE MISSION: Snooganspandora_goodiesDecember 12 2013, 17:15:35 UTC
"Marvelous!"
Not really, but at least she was past that time in her life where she would've gotten a massive nosebleed just at the idea of talking to him.
"Young man, I have a task for you. Your companions in the library require nourishment." If Constantine's box of donuts was in her camera's view, she was choosing to ignore it. "My data indicates a convenience store on the eastern part of the island, and that they sell snack foods. I believe these 'Kwik Stop' snack foods will be just the thing everyone needs."
Or she'd picked the place that was the furthest from the library. But he didn't need to know that.

"Yes," Tannis replied brightly. Maybe overdoing the cheer a little. It came off a little manic. "Exactly, well done. Snacks, and lots of them! For everyone." She nodded firmly. "And don't come back before you have them."

"For the love of --"
Yes, smacking electronics (even highly delicate scientific instruments) in the hopes that they'd work properly was a multiversal thing. As Tannis had just demonstrated. And now it was time to accept that the fault didn't lie with her equipment, but with what it was attempting to process.
Once again, it was time for Dr. Tannis to swallow her hatred of communication to try and grab the attention of someone on the other side of the screen. "You there!"

"Snacks. Got it. No problem." He was a werewolf, he could go get snacks without meeting a horrific end. Probably.

Tannis waved him off without another word. There, that was at least one or two people out of the library for a while

Politely.
