Choosing Your Own Government--Monday, Period 5, Class #6--Crime and Punishment

Feb 10, 2008 22:12

Vala awaited her class in the Danger Shop, where they had been handwavily informed to meet her. Inside was a set up of a dark, dank, but slightly out-of-date prison complex.

"Good afternoon. Now, I know this is a rather extreme way to prove a point, but whether you're a hereditary monarch, a crazy mass-murdering fuckhead future German ChancellorRead more... )

Gwynn did not like this at all as it came way too close to her own life for comfort.

She didn't protest as she understood what Vala was trying to teach them, but that didn't change the fact her complexion was a bit paler than earlier.

Eve touched Gwynn's arm lightly. "What's wrong?" she whispered.

Evey was doing her very best not to show any signs of how the lesson was affecting her. She'd had advance warning of it, and she'd lived through this once already. And it was only for an hour. Presumably she'd be allowed to keep her hair. And there wouldn't be any torture.

It didn't really comfort her, and Evey was already starting to feel claustrophobic and sick, her brain frantically attempting to shut off her emotions. She'd dull herself, just for this hour, just as she had for those months and months on end. She could get through one class.

She wasn't afraid to go back in a cell, of course. But it certainly wasn't on her list of things she'd wanted to do when she got up that morning.

Questions: Who are you? What are you doing in prison? How will you get out?

A set of lockpicks and technology are moddable within reason (think your standard prison), as are reasonably intelligent and moddable guards who are subject to bribes and flattery.

Yes, if your character would be able to make explosives from regular household things, that is also an option. That's why they're in the Danger Shop.

Cedric really, really missed his wand and hated his dependence on the damn thing right now. He figured he Jack would know how to pick locks but he hadn't asked to learn.

So, he fiddled with the lock picks for awhile before attempting wandless magic.

Neither worked.

"Huh."

Vala, dressed as a guard, strolled by. "Problem?"

Eve was standing a bit back from the cell door, casting the highest level unlocking spells she knew -- and to no avail.

"Shit."

She looked back at Gwynn. "Got any ideas?"

Because sometimes you just had to enlist the modded with permission cellmate.

Evey was there. Exceptionally quiet and tense-looking, but there.

Two weeks he'd missed, and offered no explanation.

It was a rather hangdog looking Karal who approached Vala after class.

Vala leaned against the desk and watched Karal approach. "Yes?"

"I wanted to apologise for missing your last two classes," he said, and he looked - and felt - very apologetic. "I would have been here if I'd been able."
