Sirius was too drunk most of the time to care for himself, let alone an animal, it might eat Peter, and Remus might eat it.

I also love the image of Mum peeking out over James' shoulder. This fic is absolutely adorable. I love James' fretful practising of what to say to Lily on the kitchen appliances and he ends up not needing to at all, the silly thing. And his friends casual banter over his troubles. Socute, I love.
