Jack was more than willing to offer a friendly massage to spread suntan lotion.  Sure, there was a hint of sensuality, it was Jack, but it didn't really cross any line.

"You have very nice skin."  He commented as he worked ( Read more... )

River was a sweet child, Miho had decided. More than that, she wasn't sure. She knew that someone had played with the child's mind, but it seemed that Miho's supernatural origins had somehow provided a barrie where River couldn't quite penetrate. To Miho, it was comfort. To River, it was relief.

She turned a little, not really wanting to move too much, Jack's fingers felt so good on her skin. "This sleeping dragon wouldn't ever want to yell at you, River..." the words were quiet, softly spoken.

Closing her eyes again, she reached up to pull some of her long hair from Jack's way. What he was doing to the knots of her muscles felt so good. As for the burning "I wouldn't burn anyway, Captain..." she smiled coyly at him. "The suntan oil is just good for the massage itself. There are a few advantages to not being wholly human."

"Lucky you." Jack murmured. "I can still burn. I can get broken bones, bruises, anything short of death, and have to heal just like anyone else."

"Death makes it better. So if I get a broken leg and beg someone to kill me..."

"I will snap your neck painlessly." River nodded solemnly.

"A true friend will kill ya." He gave River's arm a shove with his elbow.

Jack pressed deeper into the muscles of Miho's back, working deep. "Cabana boy and masseuse, that's me."

"Careful, he would swindle you for latrine duty." River grinned. She was much more at ease here, at the fringes, near the ones whose mind didn't shout.

"Never, not for a massage. Now, that's just pool wager stuff." Jack answered, offended. "Now a massage is bodyshots worthy, but we're fresh out of alcohol."

Giggling softly (but not in the annoying girlish way some women do), Miho groaned in pleasure as Jack's nimble thumbs found the one spot that had been niggling her. Finally, she rotated her shoulders carefully, then glanced up at the man working on her. "You know, my Japanese father taught me how to make moonshine... out of coconut milk." there was a shyness to her grin, but it was as if she didn't expect people to know she had talents other than being great at security.

"Now there is a talent worthy of a goddess. Especially with so much raw material laying about." Jack remembered hypervodka fondly. Had a kick like a mule.

"First man made a still in the jungle. Kept it quiet. Was not beer, but would do. Medicinal purposes is a thin veil. Egyptians made beer. Learned from the best. You should speak with him. Plane parts and yams with sugar cane. Sugar makes rum. Yams vodka. *Make you blind.*" River smiled at the pair.

"Sorry, kiddo, that one went right over my head." Jack felt the reaction from Miho ands paid more attention to that spot.

"Grow taller." River looked out to sea.

* spoken in Chinese

(OOC: Methos made a still before the move to the bunker. I can't remember who was his co-conspirater. )

Lack of subtlety, that certainly described the Doctor perfectly. To Martha's ears her Doctor didn't sound all that different from Nine, excepting that he tended to do less of the brooding and comparatively speaking - from what little she had see of Nine - be a bit more upbeat and chipper.

When Jack mentioned trauma, Martha wondered if he referred to the destruction of Gallifrey, but she wasn't going to bring it up in mixed company. Bad enough that she and Jack were going on like old friends in front of Miho and Kenzaki, even if they didn't seem to mind. It wasn't her place to bring up something so personal in front of strangers anyway.

"It wasn't like that. About Rose," Martha said off of Jack's horrified look. "She was safe, not dead, just out of reach. The Doctor left her in an alternate universe with her mum and her dad and some bloke named Mickey. He had to do it to save her and the world from Cybermen and Daleks." Martha didn't get the complete, detailed story out of him until after their eight month separation. By then the ( ... )

"You too, huh?" Jack managed a small, sad grin at Martha's perception of not being good enough compared to Rose. That wasn't just about feeling unappreciated, but about jealousy. Martha apparently was another who fell under the Doctor's strange spell. Himself included ( ... )

"Scares me too," Martha admitted. The Doctor was the ultimate addiction, why else had she come back to his side with only a few words of what passed for apology from him for his callousness ( ... )
