Wow, h! The space, the house... they're gorgeous. I am just in awe at all that space.. and your neighbour would be... far. I hope the search goes well and you guys would find something you both love.

Well, it always seems in situations like these that your neighbors, despite the amount of space you have, are within site...even if it is far away. Not a huge deal, but some day we'd love a spot where you wouldn't be able to see your neighbors.

It is an awful lot of space, isnt' it? Nice to know there are still big areas out there like that!

The road of life has some interesting turns that you can’t see coming

Very true!

The house is SO adorable and the views are lovely, and I'm digging the rock facade. But are you going to go nutty in a house so much smaller than the one you have now? Maybe not if you plan on building something there soon.

A few key questions:
1) Where will I sleep?!? (because it's always all about me)
2) Where will the hottub go?
3) How close is the nearest town?
4) You'll be so far from Doug and Lynne!
5) WHERE WILL THE HOTTUB GO!?!?

Ooh, I love the look of that house! It has so much character to it. And the views are amazing. Verra nice. :)

Does it get green around there in the summer? I've never been up thataway.

Good luck on the house search! How exciting! I hope you show us all the houses you look at. :)

It is a neat little house. Pretty sparse, but the guy did add some interesting character to some of the interior features.

It doesn't get really green up there in the summer. The high desert doesn't grow much for grass, but the spring can be pretty when the cactus bloom. The cottonwoods green up and some flowers poke through, but there isn't much grass or anything.

I'll try to get D to take pictures of the places we look at. He likes having the LJ to keep track of stuff like this, so I'm sure he will!!

Ooooooooooooh, H, I LOVE it! It reminds me of when I live in Arizona.

Questions b/c I'm nosey...

Did the dogs like it?
How far to the grocery store? (or is that not a big deal for you? LOL)
Where will Hi-T sleep? (b/c it's all about her LOL)
Does it get green in the summer?

We actually didn't kick the dogs out while we were there, but no doubt they would LOVE it, though. It's a lot like the area around the ranch that I love so much and they love going on hikes around there, so I'm sure they'd enjoy it ( ... )

My gosh... if you'd just shown me the pictures I would've guessed they were taken somewhere in Northern New Mexico!

The house is so unique, and I love the southwestern interior. :) E's sister's house has the log ceilings (I don't know the proper name for it lol) too, and I like how rustic and natural it looks. And the view!! You'll get to see such spectacular sunsets out there in the high desert. That's something I kind of miss about NM.

Good luck with your search, h. We'll be living vicariously through you and D. :D

Yes, the sunsets out there are absolutely breathtaking! The house is really unique, the guy put a lot of heart into the making of it. He actually dug out the foundation by hand!!! The stairwells are really cool and the second floor is a walk-out to the roof/deck.

We'll see how it all goes. We just found, online, another really cool looking house that we'll go check out in the next couple of days. I'll keep you all posted on how it all goes!
