Does anyone go to church here? Everywhere I go, I'm always the odd man out. Like at work. And the internet. At oddly enough, at church too.

On Friday, I went to a Missionary... convention, I think? They had some booths and I guess you could call the guest speakers "speakers" for the "panels" there.

... It was crazy funny. The guest speaker was a ( Read more... )

Well, also depends on the church too.

I honestly would never invite over my friends to my church because they don't speak Korean, and IMO, the English Ministry pastor... bluntly stated, his sermons are uninspiring and leave a lot to be desired :/

But finding a good church will really help you in the long run 'cause you'll always have someone to turn to or people to help you out in a bind. Which can come in handy if you live alone/away from home if nothing else

ljchristians sometimes has some interesting stuff to read, tho I haven't joined yet ^^;

Well yeah that's true.

My church is all-chinese and even though I can kinda understand what he says, his sermons don't do anything for me. Other than to make me (and some other people) fall asleep. :( Which is partly why I just don't wanna go to church anymore.

Huh, yeah, that's true. I'm gonna try to at least attend these prayer meetings while I'm at college. I dunno if we have a church to go to.

I've never been religious all my life but it's funny that it's made me feel like the odd (wo)man out all my life. My closest friends from elementary school through high school were dedicated Christians. It was pretty awkward a lot of the time when they would continually ask me why I didn't believe in God.

And that Korean translator is awesome. xD

Well, at least they're comfortable enough with you to ask why ^^ I can see why they'd ask, but I can also see why people don't believe. Even know what Christianity's about, it's still a really hard thing to accept.

I'm going to try to convince my dad to buy the CD of that speaker, 'cause there was another time the speaker said something in Chinese and the translator tried to mimic him. It was like Engrish Comedy Theater XD

I was raised Catholic, but these days I kinda like the way Karen Armstrong defines herself: "freelance monotheist."

I go to church~

There are definitely some funny moments XD

Like when McDonald's took over our intercome. Yeah - during the priest's speech, too.
