but really julie, i think we are the same person.
though i did think you were listening to youngstown, the pre-teen pop band, and laughed for a good fifteen seconds until i realized it was a song by mr. springsteen. coughobsessioncough.

dude. he writes good music. which i like. that doesn't mean i want to sleep with him or whatever.

i mean.

anyway, my point is he is WAY TO GAY to fuck me and all those girls he talked about were obviously just his beards.

i pick, i pick!
i still love you, julie.
(OH YES, SHE DID.)

make fun of me for wanting to bone tom gabel.
well, pre-"searching for a former clarity" days, anyway.

what is this "reading" you speak of?!
no seriously, i haven't read an actual book, since... august? and it was about cannibals. no wait, i read lionel dahmer's book during christmas break, but still! i haven't read any books not dealing with serial killers in atleast two years. sad, i know.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!
omg, i totally dream about girls saying this to me! oh god, i sure did love against me! when i didn't hate them...

there's murder in this book? srsly, i think you might really like it. it is about the great depression and the dust bowl and...there's okies? but yeah, there's like, tons of death and maybe a little blasphemy.

all i do is read books. except that's not necessarily as true anymore as it was in october.

OH MY GOD, i love the boss. i think we might have discussed this before. but seriously, he is on the top of my list of strange attractions i have to older men (a close second to mr. goldblum). 'born to run' is one of my favorite jams, and seriously....that man can wear jeans.

i wanted to comment on something else, but i kind of got lost in my springsteen rant. i'll get back to you.

i totally can't get enough of this "spirit in the night" usericon!!! falltotry February 7 2007, 22:57:33 UTC
i'm pretty sure i remember talking about this a loooooong time ago, like when i first started listening to him or something. 2003? 2004? anyway. he is totally my official Straight Girl Crush. i'd do him. (maybe i talk about this too much?)

oh god, one time, in november, i was having a kind of shitty day, so i started listening to "born to run" because obviously. and then i put it on repeat, because it was just way too good. and then my roommate came home and was all psyched because apparently she'd come home just in time to hear this really great song, right? then she realized it was on repeat. and then i told her it had been on repeat for about three hours. and that is my "born to run" story ( ... )

ah! "wrap your legs around these velvet rims and strap your hands across my engines" is my favorite line in that song. in any bruce song, actually. maybe any song ever.

but! i have a boss story. i have this arch nemises, who is exactly like me in every way, and we were in a carload full of people going to see a show. that song came on and we both got really pumped and she tells me its her favorite bruce springsteen song. and THEN the aforementioned line comes on and she reveals that its her favorite line in the song! i was slightly appalled, but it also made me like her a tiny bit more.

i really like that wendy tattoo idea, haha.

my favorite line is probably "there were ghosts in the eyes of all the boys you sent away". you know, for obvious reasons. but i also really dig "driving out of darlington county, my eyes seen the glory of the coming of the lord" partly because of the way he says it, and partly because i seriously hope what he really wanted to say was "we skipped town and fucked in the car on the way out" but using a line from the battle hymn of the republic was just a touch classier, oh god!!!

ps- aaahhhhhh! I'M IN UR BRAIN STEEELING UR ROCKSTAR CRUSHES!!! it's so weird to have things in common with people you dislike, isn't it?

heat is for winners! my apartment is fifty-six degrees right now, but the knowledge that i could raise it to sixty-two...hell, or even up to eighty-six or something if i so chose is so pathetically luxurious, oh god!

read it, read it, read it! i can't believe how good i think it is. part of me thinks it can't really be as good as i think it is, but shit son, i am totally down with this Great American Novel.

funny (ha ha) thing about my lady of choice is i am no longer her lady of choice. so, like, why would i care what she thinks about what i think? except for how i am used to caring, but i am getting to the point where it is pretty easy to stop caring because if she doesn't want to talk to me for three weeks then whatever, she can blow me and her opinion just gets more meaningless. i guess it is just like with work after all. or all my interpersonal relationships are just the same. i let people shit all over me for a pretty long time, but everyone has their breaking point and i am apparently no exception.
