I'm back!

Okay, to be fair, I've been back for a while now, but I've barely been around on tumblr; I have a Master's thesis to edit before my study director sends it into the inferno of Elizabethan Academia, and I've been preparing to leave for London in less than - oh god, a little less than a month now. Remember two months ago when I said I was ( Read more... )

tumblr is a strange wondrous land, doctor who, fandom is a safe corner of my brain, what is this work you speak of, sherlock

oh god, "Moran-Morstan-Milverton", I would KILL for it to be those three...

and okay it's possibly because a not-very-nice part of me wants to watch the fandom freak the fuck out over Morstan?

I was online and still managed to miss the wank over the big bang mod, I only caught up on all of it yesterday. But I think I'm going to have to drop out despite the extensions - I'm finding it nearly impossible to get into a Sherlock writing headspace; I've plotted and planned but I can't actually write :| I'll stick with it a bit longer but it's not looking good.

Stupidly excited about DW and Pond Life (which, okay, that's not a great name. It just makes me think of a high school biology project), though. I feel like I've been waiting ages and ages and it's here all of a sudden.

I'm seriously rooting for them, yeah.

Not sure whether I would enjoy the freak-out, tbh, because it'd inevitably end up in Mary-bashing, but I would kill for an awesome Mary on the show (so long as Moffat doesn't write her much, granted). Mostly I just really, really want a MILV update.

I'm actually in the same kind of writing headspace right now, which worries me a little. You were writing a Minority Report-type of AU, right? The extension goes as far as the fourth of October, though, so maybe your mojo will come back at some point between now and then? Let's hope so, anyway.

Pond Life sounds ridiculous and amazing, and I think we can all guess what the cliffhanger tying it to S7 will be, but I was really surprised by how suddenly it was sprung upon us, I guess? I thought we'd have to wait the entire month of September, and instead it airs on the 1st. It's a little jarring, but I'm starting to really look forward to it, despite S6's terrible arc. :D

Pushing Daisies AU! Not that I don't think anything else you write would also be awesome.

HOW IS THIS THE FIRST I'VE HEARD OF POND LIFE. I HAD TO GOOGLE IT JUST NOW. WHAT.

I'M REALLY REALLY TEMPTED TO DO A PUSHING DAISIES AU scrap everything I've done so far and start afresh yeaaaaah

Pretty cool explanation for Sherlock's mysterious return from the dead, too.

ISN'T THE MERE CONCEPT OF POND LIFE AMAZING THOUGH. :D Between that, the new season, and Gatiss writing a biopic about the origins of DW, I don't even know what to look forward to more.

Write them all! Oh man, I didn't even think of the whole dead thing. Who would have the undeadifying powers, then? If John, then angst.

Honestly I'm fighting against last series' residual irritation, because ugh, Moffat, being a troll in your writing doesn't make you clever, it makes for bad writing. But POND LIFE. YEAH. And Gatiss and DW origins sounds amazing.

Mm, right now I've two scenarios jockeying for first place: either John is the one who undeads the dead, and brings Sherlock back to life after TRF, or Sherlock is, and he brings John back to life after John was shipped back from Afghanistan in a body bag. Either way, it's one of them, so angst is inevitable. :D

I firmly choose to ignore S6's story arc. It had some lovely filler episodes, and the opener wasn't half-bad, and Amy and Rory were adorable; that's it. I tend to stop listening to Moffat when he's being a sexist dick or going LOOK AT THIS LOOK HOW CLEVER IT IS THIS IS GOING TO BLOW YOUR MIND and then it's only moderately clever, and, agh.

Ohhh, pyromaniac case!fic! I am intrigued. Your three words make a lot more sense than the ones we were given, haha.

Also I hope you don't mind that I've added you to my friend's list! /super-late.

Pyromaniac!case!fic came entirely from a mental image of Sherlock's coat taking fire and John freaking the fuck out. It grew some plot at some point, I don't know. (Oh man, the three words are kinda. Anti-climatic? It's rather strange.)

And no, of course I don't mind - you sound lovely, we frequent the same fandom circles, and your fic has already won me over. Friended you back, hi. ♥

Yes! I couldn't figure out what it was that made me feel kind of... "meh" about them. Maybe because they could kind of be anything where as it would take an extra special sort of effort to misinterpret what "HOUND" meant, for example. And D: for Sherlock's coat!

Also hee, hi. <3

Yeah, their meaning last year was pretty obvious, and we knew exactly what storyline structures we were going to get. This is a leap into the unknown. I assume they'll be crossing streams at some point - linking EMPT with MILV, for instance (oh please please please I want that so very badly).

I just hope that fandom takes to Mary, if the hinted wedding ends up being hers and John's. It's a bit too obvious, IMO, but it's a strong possibility, and I'd hate to see her bashed or badly-written.

Good luck :'D. Moving is a pain in the ass but I'm sure you'll handle it. As well as your thesis. GO GO YOU!

Considering the three words, I can only think of Sherlock meeting Basil the mouse detective, John's wedding maybe? (and you'd be right for Morstan), and The Doctoc because bowties are cool.

I AM TERRIFIED OKAY THAT'S THE TRUTH ))))): it's probably going to go over well, but it's a pretty big leap for me.

Most of the speculation so far agrees that Rat hints either at the 'rat of Sumatra' reference, or at Milverton (please), or at Moran, or at Boscombe Valley. Wedding is either Mary or a wedding-related case (The Noble Bachelor, The Solitary Cyclist), or, well, both. Perhaps His Last Bow for the last, though that would hint at the end of the series, which doesn't quite fit in with Moffat's earlier warning that there'd be a huge cliffhanger at the end of S3, which would imply at least an S4.

Fandom is freaking out over three words. It's a little hilarious to watch.
