You know, one of the things that bugs me about DGM fanfic is that Allen is often portrayed as a little man-child who has never thought about touching another human in a sexual way. I thought the manga was a pretty quick read. Honestly, I haven't seen about half of the anime yet.

Yeah, somewhere along the way Allen went from just cute to really hot. I don't even know exactly where it happened, but I think it started around chapter 55 or so. Right after the Tyki thing.

If possible, I like to read any manga that goes with an anime I might be watching. It gives me a rounder picture of the characters. Plus, you sometimes get mini-story arcs in one that's not in the other.

*nodsnods* Yeah, I do too, usually. I've been pretty lazy with this though. I will say that I got about halfway through the anime, then read the first chapter of the manga and immediately liked Allen's characterization in the manga so much better that I focused on that instead. Plus, I'm a fast reader, so I got through the manga in no time, whereas with a tv show, you can't really control how long it takes.

Well... soooort of, except I don't think that Allen would do the whole thing where he shuns someone he's in a relationship with.

In my twisted little imagination, Allen doesn't think sex is dirty. Allen loves sex. He just doesn't see it as something sacred.

And this is where the shipping of Kanda/Allen comes in, for me. Allen needs approval and affection, and Kanda doesn't really "do" approval. Not that Kanda can't care deeply for someone. He just isn't good at showing it. At all.

But Allen:
1) was abandoned as a baby (thus, the seeds were sown for his need for approval and affection)
2) was taken in by someone he cared deeply for who subsequently died, and the circumstances surrounding that were highly traumatic (hello massive guilt complex)
