Word. I loved Sylar in this episode. So hilarious.

I felt the jarring change in Gretchen's character too, but I was happy with it. Mostly because she doesn't seem like West to me anymore. When West stopped stalking Claire and became her boyfriend, he was still a complete douchebag and made her do terrible things. Gretchen on the other hand, does not scream "douche" to me, but rather a pretty misunderstood yet likable character now that Becky's schemes are out in the open.

Yes, there is that. Gretchen is definately likeable, but now she's mentioned having so many bfs I can't relate her to me as much as I could when she was the kooky outsider xD But I still like her. West was just, ugh. At least I can be happy in the knowledge that if the romance does happen Claire's not hooking up with an idiot.

their scenes from the trunk onwards were very...teen-horror movie and cliched.

oh they were cliched all right :P it was partly the clichness that made me laugh and like them. *shrug* the shows bound to get cliched somewhere :P

She wasn't the outsider anymore, she was the more 'mature' out of the two, with more boyfriends and experience. Now that seemed to me to be a complete 180 of personality.

hmmm.... now that you mention it, they did screw up with her character a bit but i suppose its how gretchen is and now that the awkward, held in crush is out of the way, maybe this is how she always was?

i get what you mean about slashing with claire. i liked her scenes with elle but that was it. I never got tracy/claire or nikki/claire or candince/claire or whatever claires been slashed with. but i think i am moderatly positive towards gretchen/claire. i saw chemistry there somewhere and i still love madeline and hayden's goofiness so.... :P

and sylar kicked ASS this epsiode!! :D

Hmm, I didn't think of it like that. But you'd think with the experience of so many relationships she wouldn't be so nervy having a crush on Claire.

I'm not negative towards the ship, I'm just...confused? Heh. Hayden and Madeline are adorkable together, their scenes are good...it's just not happening for me to ship them. I'm really trying to remain open to it growing on me. Maybe it will, I dunno.

Didn't he JUST? Like whoah :D

I think their scenes were cliched too but Claire said stuff like "There are whole websites devoted to this thing" and I got the impression that the show KNEW it was a cliche, and was making fun of itself - so I was slightly forgiving. *shrug* I do agree that Gretchen doesn't seem so awkward anymore so it is harder to relate to her. Still, I like her as a character better now because she doesn't seem so creepy.

But I've never slashed with Claire before.

Well, she had chemistry with Elle but it IS hard to slash Claire IMO. I saw more bisexual fluidity with her in this episode than I've ever really seen in fanon. Let's face it, half the male characters on this show are 10x more gay than Claire, but the public is generally more accepting of f/f pairings on tv than m/m pairings. Which...sucks and is really unfair *sigh* At least the Claire/Gretchen story is being handled somewhat tastefully and it seems to be VEERING away from ratings stunt territory.

I saw the chemistry with Elle but never interpreted it as romantic, but when they had most of their scenes I was still not really multi-shipping, so maybe that's why.

Which...sucks and is really unfair *sigh*See, I think I would have had no problem at all with an m/m pairing, probably for the very same reason that the guys on this show could SO be gay. 'Cause like, there have been scenes throughout the seasons, probably with every guy, that I've thought to myself they've had chemistry with this guy OR girl, so if they went that way on the show I could buy it. Because I've never seen anything, to my eyes, before on the show that makes Claire interested in girls...maybe that's why I don't ship it ( ... )

I think it's because Claire has never interacted with girls, really, cause the female cast is so small. Her main interactions are her family, Zach, West, and Alex. I think she has seen Daphne and Tracy for about five minutes but otherwise...so its a mix of that and yeah...All the guys are with guys so we have more opportunity to see the male slash, so now that Claire is actually with a girl, maybe I can see it more?

Good episode, but lacking in the Paire, Peter, Nathan, Nathan/Claire departments :D

The whole Sylar/Nathan/Matt situation is kind of crazy at this point but compelling *lol* I have now idea how it's all going to be sorted out so that each one has his own body again, but I hope that will be endgame so that we can have our lovely Nathan back!

I think I'm in the minority, but if it does turn romantic I won't be shipping it.

I don't think you're in the minority. At least, I don't ship Claire/Gretchen either. In fact, the only people I ship Claire with are Peter and Nathan, so let's keep it in the family *lol* Fandom is so twisted *lol*
