First of all, that was perfect choice of music. I can't think of anything that would have fit it better.

One of the main things that make Pete/Peggy so very viddable for me is they are always staring at each other.

Totes. In the BSG fandom we called it eye-frakking but with P/P it's more than UST. They watch each other all the time. You captured it wonderfully.

I am so glad Peggy got rid of that skinny ponytail. Good grief I hated that thing.

I had considered using the shots of Peggy crossing herself and Pete holding the gun as the final clips, but I just love the devastated look on Pete's face too much and the little tear that pops out of his eye.

I think you made the right choice. That final scene sums them up very well.

Why is Pete/Peggy hurting each other so damn hot?

I dunno!! I'm just glad I have company in this ship. And also, stocking are sexy but her thick servicable stockings really aren't and yet watching Pete digging for gold with her legs hiked up around him and damn they are sexy ( ... )

Yes! Those two are all about the eye-sex. You are also right that Pete/Peggy can make the unsexy sexy. They both look meek and dorky on the surface, but they are wild together when they are having sex. Even the damn ponytail is sexy when Pete is pulling it (though I was pleased Kurt snipped it off too!)

Thanks for your encouragement. I've only made one other vid before (a BSG vid) so it means a lot to get good feedback. You definitely have company in this ship.

I was having fic ideas last night. I don't think I'll be able to resist much longer! *sigh* Just when I thought I'd quit fic for good.

I've got a little bunny for a 4-part Pete fic. It's just going to be Pete interacting with four different characters (Hildy, Sal, Peggy and Don) in the weeks after Peggy's confession. I don't know when I'll sit down to write it - but would you beta for me? If so, do you have an e-mail addy I could post to?

People always flail about Don or Joan, but these 2, together and individually, are the most intriguing part of this show for me. I absolutely adore them for all the reasons you mentioned in your meta. Thank you for the vid!

Yes! Pete/Peggy are my favourites also. And Betty! I love her too. Well, Don and Joan too, but for pure adoration nothing beats Pete/Peggy. I love that icon! I've not seen that pic before.

Thanks! I was actually trying to think of 1960s period music, but then the idea of using Portishead came out of nowhere and ate my brain.

Why is it fun to watch them hurt eachother? Maybe cause they are never so honest as when they do so

Wow. So true. In a show that is so much about false personas, the honesty and truth we see between Pete/Peggy is so raw and powerful, even when it hurts.
