S.H.I.E.L.D. revisited...

Sep 26, 2013 21:37

I watched Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. again tonight, this time with Pim and . And I think I may have fallen in love with it this time. Okay, I still don't like Maria Hill's hair.

Because I am pretty much madly in love with her anyway, it's hard to adjust.

Now that that is off my chest...

A look at more details... )

I think there's an extra < / i > in the link html (I notice mostly because I do this all the time and have to check the preview carefully).

Am enjoying your thoughts on the show. I watched it, uncritically, with some wine, and in the mood to enjoy and not think about it, so did generally enjoy it (apart from a few things that bugged me), but reading assorted comments about is making me think about it more and of it's flaws. It's quite interesting see what different things annoyed different people.

Sorry for the html mangling there. Fixed now.

Looking forward to this week's SHIELD, which I hope to see tonight.

Skye's looks are the one I find really generic, like she would fit right in with this gen's 90210. I couldn't understand half the dialogue from Fitz and Simmons. I liked coulson, J. August Richards and Ron Glass and the woman with the black hair and the Asian American one - I don't know anyone's names yet.

We'll see. It felt incredibly light to me - but I'm sure Joss was told or gleaned not to do anything with depth, just to bring people into the story fold with fast action.

These shows all feel the same to me, slightly incoherent. M

Isn't most of the heavy lifting being done by Joss' brother and his sister-in-law?

Could you explain? Who are they? I don't know any of the behind-the-scenes action.

Skye had a lot of the mannerisms that remind me of Elisa Dushku, so I can see why Pim thought so.

I just watched the pilot last night. I enjoyed it, although the male scientist reminded me a little too much of Topher.

The male scientist... You mean Fitz? Yes, he was a little Topher-like, now you mention it, though of course the show was full of Joss Whedon "types", more than it was full of Marvel types. Which is okay, though I hope he manages for more variety. Seems to me there ought to be a place for James Marsters in there somewhere.
