Oh hon - a-fucken-men to all of the above!!!!!

I've been enjoying TNA for the last few years off and on, for all of those reasons, but most especially for the Knockouts Division.

Dude, those girls have got their shit together!! And I squeeeeeed like a totally rabid fangirl when Victoria (now Tara) started with them!

We aren't getting TNA til Saturday night here and I can't wait to see it!

And I'm with you totally on Mick Foley - his books are my most prized possessions, because he's funny and makes me laugh, but because he gave me such a treasured peek at the backstage of wrestling. Much much much love for Mick!

I could squee on forever except I'm at work but . . . YEAH!

I am, well, knocked out by the awesomeness of the Knockouts. In fact I'm currently downloading (well, my housemate's doing it for me!) the 31st Dec episode which I gather was an all-girls special - couldn't do THAT with the Divas, could you?

Enjoy the show when you get it, hon - it really is awesome fun! Have you seen Raw yet? I've got the download ready to watch over here, I'm saving it for tomorrow and so far have even succeeded in avoided spoilers, although by this point I'm about ready to eat my own hand just from wondering what happened! *twitch*

I could squee on forever except I'm at work but . . . YEAH!

Hee! Please, by all means, squee away! I love it when people post long rambling replies to my long rambling fandom posts - hearing other people enthuse about the same stuff that I love is one of my (many) guilty pleasures so I am always delighted when it happens. ^_^ *huggles*

Well, it started out as a long rambling reply, now I've finally watched TNA, but got too big!

So my thoughts and squeeing are over here on my LJ!

You certainly have a way with words. You sucked me into another "pro" "rasslin" entry! LOL. Enjoyed your description and your squeeage, but just have one question (since I don't watch it): you mentioned chants of "Angle" and "AJ"... is that a reference to Kurt Angle and if so what did he do?

Heee, thank you! <3 There's no higher compliment than "I don't like this, but I do when you write it", so I am muchly flattered. *grins*

Kurt Angle! Yes, 'tis he. He was in the main event, challenging AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. They had what, to my eye as a pro wrestling fan anyway, was a cracking good match - Kurt lost, but both of them sure gave the crowd their money's worth. It certainly looked like a damned close thing at the end.

Sadly my technical knowledge of "proper" wrestling is bugger-all, so I can't really tell you how it would measure up to your idea of a wrestling match - sorry! :/

Um, that's ok... is it totally evil of me to be glad that Kurt lost? [It is bad enough for an amateur wrestler to go to the WWF - it's totally disrespectful IMO to *use* his Olympic experience as a sneering point as part of his "pro" "rasslin" act... not a lot of respect for that particular Olympic gold medalist from this quarter!]

Far be it from me to judge someone else's reason for disapproving of anyone in pro wrestling. *g* I love the boys and I love the shows and I will defend their existence to the bitter end, but that doesn't mean I can't understand your objections!

I was never a big fan of Kurt anyway TBH. I mean, he's got it where it counts, sure, and I've not heard anything terribly bad about him as a person; but the funny thing is I kinda find that whole Olympic gimmick to be just as disrespectful as you do! There are plenty of brave, talented, dedicated guys in that ring who've committed their whole lives to learning the skills that are specific and/or unique to pro wrestling, and for Kurt to be pushed as somehow "better" than them because he got a medal for something that looks like the same form of entertainment but isn't? That, to me, is not cool, not to mention muddying the waters even further with regard to the whole "not the same thing" issue and getting us sneered at even more by people like you... ;)
