Well we've FINALY got to the bottom (no pun intended) of what has been bothering E for the last few weeks or so. Turns out she's got thrush :(  She's had a rash in the nappy area on and off since before Christmas, but when I spoke to the doctor he said it just souned like nappy rash and to keep things clean and dry and use cream regularly. Me too - bottom is looking MUCH better after a weekend of treatment, though she's still unwell from either a secondary infection or a virus she's picked up due to being so run down from all the lack of sleep. Feeling guilty for not pushing the matter sooner, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. How are you guys doing now?

Its so hard at E's age because they can't tell you what's wrong--you do the best you can with what you know :) I'm glad to hear she's doing better with the thrush--hopefully she'll kick whatever bug is bothering her soon!

S is back to sleeping in his bed for most of the night--around six or so he's crawling back in with me but that's way better than having his bony little knees and elbows in my back all night :p I'm hoping at some point he'll go back to staying asleep and in his own bed until its time to get up :p

I've never had it (touch wood!) so hopefully this will be the first and last time for her too. And yes, we do have to put up with a lot - men don't realise how easy they have it! ;-)

Are you stil; using the cloth nappies? If you so you need to sun them to get rid of the thrush in them. And wash on 60.

Thanks for the heads up! We are still using cloth; looking back, I have an awful feeling that's what has been keeping it going so long :-( Well, we live and learn - we already wash at 60 though, so have emailed bumgenius to ask how they'd recommend totally killing it. As for sun - not a chance here at the moment!

Well bleach also kills it but you cannot bleach anything with PUL. You can use soap nuts which are anti-fungal as well. Can't remember what I used on my breast pads when I had thrush for 4 months... I think the soap nuts as I normally wash with them anyway.
