As promised, what folllows is an excerpt from my newly begun work of fiction. It's a romance novel, about two women. If you're not into that, then stay away

LOVE IT, Katie! This is great. I like how your character has this group within which sexuality is not an issue: it's just attraction. Not that I condone sleeping around, you know, but I like love talking with my friends for whom gender isn't an issue. (I laughed out loud at that Meg woman "coming up on everyone's gaydar". Great!... my gaydar is still not up to par, dunno about that.)
Reading this makes me want to try sailing! It sounds so challenging and fun. I'll have to put that on my list of things to do in life, or something.
I just love reading your stuff and I can't wait to read more of this.
Wow, Katie. I really enjoyed this. Everything you write is so fun to read--I don't know how else to explain it than that. You did a good job, I think, of explaining a little about sailing terminology to the ignorant reader without making it slow and boring. That's hard to do.
I like the characters so far. I like the subtle things you've done with Corrie already. Physically, I imagine her as being rather thin and vaguely like some people I know from school. That's surprising to me, though, that the physical image I have of her doesn't "match" how much I like her character. It's good, though, to be exploring characters who are in some way different from yourself and what you're comfortable with.
