I'm just going to say it: Last night was the best Oscars I've seen in YEARS. And like everyone else, I've got some thoughts on it.

I was muy, muy impressed with the Oscars yesterday. I have been bored out of my mind at every Oscars for the past 10 years, easy. Last night flew by (which could be in part to the liveblog aspect of it), but I was happy I didn't find myself wanting to turn it off after 20 minutes.

LOVED Hugh Jackman hosting. I really want to seem him on Broadway now. I'm pretty sure he did a show a few years ago (because I remember thinking: Wha...Wolverine in a musical number!?), but if he ever makes his way back there, I want to be in the audience. Just saying.

Word on it being about damn time for Kate.

I know. Our beloved Benjamin Button got the shaft. Granted I haven't seen Slumdog, and it may very well have deserved everything it got, but my soul died a bit each time Benjamin got passed over for an award...especially Best Picture.

Ah, see, I took comfort in the fact that I knew I'd have you to commiserate with on the Button travesty. This might sound pathetic, but I want to be a total fangirl and write to David Fincher on just how much his movie meant to me.

i didn't watch, but i did check out the musical numbers on youtube. very good indeed. also, RDJr=YES YES YES. YES.

have a blast on your vacation and safe travel! :D i'm so jealous - everyone's going on vacation lately and i don't get one until september. :P

EDIT: because who is "RBJr"?

Oh so glad I'm not the only one who has major RDJr love.

And thanks for the good travel wishes! I'll be sure to post all the dets and pictures of the inevitable debauchery :D

I loooved the Oscars and I agree with everything. I was deeply, deeeeeply amused that Zac and Vanessa actually sang from HSM3. There might have been squealing and giggling from my spot curled up in the big armchair in my living room.

I can't wait to hear about the Vegas trip, which really sounds like soo much fun!

My roommate also has a huge crush on him, so when we saw him and Vanessa on the red carpet, our reaction was something like:

"OMG HE'S SO HOT! SKANK, stop touching him!"

We were a little revved up to say the least :D
