Eleanor was, in fact, a bit early. She'd come in, ordered a coffee, and found a table to occupy while she waited. She was dressed up a little, and it made her look slightly older. A good thing, as the night was slipping on toward morning and the crowd, in general, had about ten years on her. At least.

She had her eyes open for any familiar faces, so when Edie appeared, she was greeted by the waving of a hand. It probably wasn't hard to spot the redheaded girl with the hand in the air, though the fact that she'd stood undoubtedly helped.

"Hello dearest! You look gorgeous. Thanks for making it Elle, I think David's coming too."

It all came out a slightly giddy rush as she met her friend with a hug, squeezing her tight. There no more screaming French chefs, and no more school. No more mounting debts. Just work, and a life. It was awe inspiring.

Edie couldn't help but smile a bit when she spotted Eleanor's drink of choice, heading over towards the girl with a giddy laugh and a hug. She seemed more..elated than usual.

"Did you want me to get you anything?"

It was indeed offered slyly, with the raise of her eyebrow as if this sort of offer from the Steinlen girl was a rare treat. In retrospect, it was more often than not on their excursions out that Edie did much of the ordering for Eleanor, never drinking much herself. Regardless, her gaze was cast back over the crowd as if there were in fact some large grizzly bear about to pounce her for degenerating the moral values of his niece.

Responsible eighteen year old, indeed. "Hi, Uncle David," Eleanor greeted, lifting her coffee mug in a makeshift salute. "Edie said you were probably coming. I'm so glad you made it." Yes, it was 1 am, but the teen looked fairly alert. The fact that classes had been over for slightly more than a week helped, of course - now she only had work to worry about, instead of a job and homework.

Outstandingly good was by far the most understated comment of the evening! David had been spectacular! Sure, he had had the odd bottle stuffed here and there: glove compartment, bedside table et al, but he had chosen the high road and thus had been ignoring those little nudges of temptation at every opportunity.

Luke, huh? This was apparently the Luke, and thus he should take Edie's advice and 'stand down'. A brief albeit cold half smile directed at the guy had David fully expecting any moment to be on the receiving end of a chin jut or worse from the darling Edie.

Shifting his attentions instead to his coffee-slugging niece, David smiled again. "Good to be here," he replied, taking note of the coffee with a raised eyebrow. "School's done, I hope?"
