Eleanor was, in fact, a bit early. She'd come in, ordered a coffee, and found a table to occupy while she waited. She was dressed up a little, and it made her look slightly older. A good thing, as the night was slipping on toward morning and the crowd, in general, had about ten years on her. At least.
She had her eyes open for any familiar faces, so when Edie appeared, she was greeted by the waving of a hand. It probably wasn't hard to spot the redheaded girl with the hand in the air, though the fact that she'd stood undoubtedly helped.
"Hello dearest! You look gorgeous. Thanks for making it Elle, I think David's coming too."
It all came out a slightly giddy rush as she met her friend with a hug, squeezing her tight. There no more screaming French chefs, and no more school. No more mounting debts. Just work, and a life. It was awe inspiring.
Edie couldn't help but smile a bit when she spotted Eleanor's drink of choice, heading over towards the girl with a giddy laugh and a hug. She seemed more..elated than usual.
"Did you want me to get you anything?"
It was indeed offered slyly, with the raise of her eyebrow as if this sort of offer from the Steinlen girl was a rare treat. In retrospect, it was more often than not on their excursions out that Edie did much of the ordering for Eleanor, never drinking much herself. Regardless, her gaze was cast back over the crowd as if there were in fact some large grizzly bear about to pounce her for degenerating the moral values of his niece.
"Luke," Eleanor greeted, grinning. Then, to Edie, she turned and shook her head. "No, but thank you. I've got my coffee." It wasn't that Eleanor never drank, she often had one or two when she was out with Edie. It also wasn't that she wanted to pretend she never indulged - it was just that, with David possibly attending, well. No need to do it right in front of him.
