Sonnet 001

Romeo, Romeo, where art thou cousin mine?

Wherefore hast thou transported me away from hearth's embrace, Verona Beach, to this behemoth steel and strange? No succor nor companionship, nor physicians who surely must have attended to the mortal wounds the Prince of Cats inflicted on me ere I slept.

Or sleep I still, and in sleep dream?

Are...y-you okay?

Happy?

Sir, the quickness in my limbs is reason sufficient for celebration! Ere I slept, a mortal wound spent life upon the sands of fair Verona Beach, an injury borne of hate by the villain Tybalt, Prince of Cats!

I'm--I-I'm glad you're better! T-that's a first here...

Y-you're, uhm, on a ship. We--we all are. This place is...well, u-unusual. And so are the--the people.

...

I-I suck at explaining. S-sorry.

I-I'm Herz, though.

A cessation of coil is cause for joy, sir, not alarum.

A ship? Of the most noble family Montague? 'Tis only fitting cuz would furnish me with such comfort.

Herz? 'tis a strange name, but stranger still are the ways of things unseen. I am called Mercutio.

If it was a mortal wound, I doubt a doctor could have helped.

You doubt the wisdom of the chiurgeon? 'Tis plain as day, I was diverted from the river's passage and came, as Orpheus, back to the light of day!

No, I doubt you know the meaning of the word 'mortally'.

As I believed I didst, I didst! That villain Tybalt didst slay me, the cur, and I didst see my heart's blood spill upon the beach of fair Verona as the ocean doth spill upon its shores!

Sir, the umbrage at such a greeting is divested by the joy of mine quickness, and as such my love for thee remains unflagged.

I am quick! I am alive! What is thy salutation, sir? I am Mercutio.

Even, Even, out of equilibrium art thou! 'Tis a pleasure and an honour, sir.

And speak as what?
