I have spent the better part of the last few days reflecting on our time spent in the much changed world of the flood. I too was affected. I seemed to be a weaker man in many ways, but perhaps a kinder one. I do not believe him so far from myself. I do not believe that any of our counterparts were so far from us. [Purple... hairpiece... Right.]

Um. ...Thank you. I was definitely going for cool, as well as different. Glad to hear I've succeeded at both.

I had discussed it with the one known as Biff and thought that I ought to mention it in person. It is most modern.

[small smile] I guess you could say that. I did do at home, which as far as I'm concerned is about as modern as it gets.

It is indeed. I did not know such things were possible. You must have used the dyes used on cloth, surely?

What path would it be if through doing evil someone accomplished more good than someone who refused to be anything less than a saint?

I did not think it would be true good. Such things are always tainted, I fear.

But how many completely good things ever really get done without someone in the background doing the dirty work that most people don't see?

Many things. One must merely search for the correct path, is it not so?

Can I ask why you do want to move?

I tire of the infirmary and I have other interests to pursue, I fear.

Is there any reason you... tire of us, or is it merely a change in interest?

I do not tire of you! You are mostly the best of people. It is merely a change of heart, I fear.

What prompted this change, Victor?

I find my interests moving towards the mechanical, and I have not proven myself a fine medical doctor in the past.

I see. If that's there your intentions lay, we wouldn't want to keep you from that. We will miss you, however.

I shall come back in times of crisis, if needed. But you shall all still hold a place within my heart.

Perhaps, Victor, 'monsters' and 'saints' are made out of circumstance, and nobody is ever really one or another. Perhaps it's just a mantle you put on yourself.

I do not think that you are correct. Did you not see the reality of such things during the flood?

I saw that there were still... good things behind how I acted, how Jane acted. We were different, worse people, there was no doubt about that. But we still had the occasional good intention, we still... meant well, in our own ways.

Perhaps you are correct. I am once against presenting my approach in only sheer opposites.
