How long does it take people to stop identifying themselves by what they studied in school?  Or does it just get replaced by your job?

I find people usually identify themselves by what they're best at or most proud of accomplishing.

As soon as people are out of college, the vast majority of people's biggest accomplishment and what they did most recently is an _____ major. As life takes over, and people find their niches, they gradually shift identification to said new niches.
