So BOLC II is over. Overall, I'd have to say that the program a) sucked and b) should be scrapped and brought back to the drawing board. It is THAT bad. Things I learned in BOLC II ( Read more... )

Good to hear from you! I'll bet you're glad to be out of Oklahoma. Please do be careful whilst driving to MO, okay?

Most definitely glad. I'm going to miss my Starbucks, though.

No worries; I'll be careful. I've zero interest in taking unnecessary risks.

So I take it you got to MO safely, then? Hurrah. What do you think of Missouri?

...I didn't like it. Hopefully your reaction will be different.

I miss you. I wish there was some way we could see each other more frequently. Boo.

Yes, indeed, I did. So far, the countryside is beautiful. Apart from that, Missouri is terrifying. The town immediately off-post has 2500 people. The next town has 3500. Its town center isn't even four square blocks. I thought Lawton was bad. I see now that Lawton was NOTHING compared to this. There is a Wal-Mart and a Lowe's and that is IT. There isn't even a real DMV; it's a contractor who serves the entirety of Pulaski County and has an office smaller than my old Starbucks. And the closest CITY (er, "city") is 30 miles away and has a population of 12000.

Me, too.

Congratulations! You are now officially more isolated than I am.

Uh, check the public library for internet. The one in Plains, pop. 1200, has free wireless powered by a T1 line that'll download a two-hour hi-def movie in ten minutes, which is by far the fastest connection I've ever experienced (that's where I drag my laptop every week to do my major downloading). You never know where you'll find a good connection.

Yeah, I am. Frightening thought.

Wow. That's quite impressive. I doubt the library here would be anything like so advanced, but it's worth a shot. Thanks for the idea.
