So, the relations are off home after quite a pleasant visit, and I'm cosied up at my desk with peppermint tea and NPR bringing me back to myself. I do hope that this being-misaligned is a thing I will eventually outgrow or mature past, as I did over the last few years with the crippling social anxiety that left me sick to my stomach with social ( Read more... )

Aw, I'm glad the visit went well.

A picnic tea under an apple tree sounds rather marvellous, actually: you could hang things from the branches, like jam jars with candles, or silver/gold-paper stars, or origami birds, or at the very least balloons and streamers or ribbons, or make a blanket tent hung from the tree, or...

YES. We actually have a ton of jam jars because my mother cans her own sauces. Hmm. And definitely balloons. Possibly stars as well. Yay!

I wish I had some gauze to make a gauzy canopy, but ah well. :D

We actually play the Name Game all the time -- though we hadn't for a while, and generally refer to it intelligently as Forehead Sticky Things. And yes, we played it yesterday. :D

Ah, Hockman's. The loveliest thing our little town has to offer. ^_^

I'm glad your family visit went well. I know what you mean about feeling misaligned, I think. Not to the same extent - but what with one thing and another, there have been people at my house nearly constantly for the past two weeks, and that plus some other stressy type things have me a bit off, I think. (...should probably blog about it...)

As for your birthday, love, I'm sure that we can persuaded to come. ::takes this as an invitation, muahahaha:: We do have a show that night and so will have to scarper around 7:30...hrm. Hannah's friend appears to be planning to possibly spending the week? I don't know. I shall have to ascertain this information. ::makes a face::

Well, scarpering in the evening would be perfectly good, as then I can have just-family time and The Opening of the Presents (I guess; usually we open them as a Family Thing). (Is the show at ten? I could probably be persuaded to walks aalllllllll the way down there to see it. YAY YOU'RE PUTTING ON A PLAY FOR MY BIRTHDAY.)

Didn't you say you have iPod speakers or something? If you bring those I can make a playlist and we can do some dancing, even if they're not excellent quality. Also do dress for tea, in whatever way you see fit. ^-^

I'm thinking about noon or one-ish? If you think of any other lovely things we could attempt to do... oooh, we should play Forehead Sticky Things. :D It's old-fashioned! And stuff!

Rightio. My siblings have various battery powered iPod speakers, so I can pinch a pair of them. Now I just have to conspire to make Hannah's friend, er, go HOME tonight. And the show is at eight. :P It's rather long and not all of it is good, but our part is good. :P
