It's a tired, quiet sort of night. On the death subject. I firmly believe in killing people in novels about vampires(or almost any other novel for that matter), but one needs someone to die. I would opt for the kill a lot of actual people to save many more.Then there is the random child who endears itself to the reader only to become a vampire and be killed later. That sort of thing. OR... you could not kill people at all and just make them miserable.

And there's always the "well, becoming undead involves dying" angle, as well as Evy's vampire, who could always get...more dead. Plus you've got the whole thing with the Vampire/Faerie Queen turning Tam Lin into...things...so Mr. Caruthers could even temporarily become an actual vampire, one way or another.
