Some Days It's Really All About the Baby

Justin was double booked tonight.  I wound up going to La Leche League by myself because he went to Fathers Reading Every Day (FRED) with DH at the library (no moms allowed).  They had a good time.  DH noticed a couple of red rash-like bumps on Justin's hip when he was changing him before FRED.  When he was getting him into his pj's afterwards, he

Poor Justin. I hope he isn't allergic to eggs. Although I thought food allergies show up fairly quickly after the food is ingested.

A friend's baby was allergic to raspberries. They went picking and came home with a baby who looked like she had put them all of her body.

Wow. Those are smaller and darker than his splotches. Apparently, in babies it can take up to a week for a food allergy to appear. That's why the drs recommend introducing only one food at a time. He's been eating off our plates, so it's a bit harder to pinpoint. It could have been the antibiotic. He's cleared up considerably today--it still doesn't seem to bother him.

I remember our only trip to the ER for Alex - it was when he was just 3 days old! Not fun at all. But, atleast you feel better. That's worth it.

And don't just have some water! Eat something! You need to eat - make it a healthy snack if you like, but eat something. We so often forget to take care of ourselves...
