Direction? Where?

Jan 26, 2006 02:35

Oh boy another night back on the blah train. I have no idea what brought it on really but I got to thinking alot tonight. I have absolutely no direction in life and I have no idea where I am going or what I am doing where I already am. I find myself when not playing video games and escaping reality, perpetually bored and lonely. I have friends ( Read more... )

I do not wish to get into that murky section of discourse where I try to divine what's bothering you, because if you don't know then I sure as shit don't know either. That being said, the video games = social interaction in terms of enjoyment isn't that big of a deal, and neither is getting bored of things quickly.

Well, not in my opinion anyway. We all find ourselves preferring computers over human interaction at times, I know full well that I do on a frighteningly regular basis. Still, the fact that you feel like that all the time does point to a possible social anxiety or some other problem upstairs.

In short, you may be a loon. But you may not be.

I reccomend seeing a counselor, because they know more than I do and can probably point you in a direction that might help control the feelings of malaise you get.

And I say control because they never go away completely, but controlling them does make life a hell of a lot easier.

I agree with forddent that you should go see a counceler.

However there is good news to this AJ. You realize you have a problem and thats the first step. Now the next think to do is just stop with this line of thought that you are nuts. You arn't. What I suggest is to put the video games down for a while and go find something in the real world that you like, for instance I know you like music and have a radio show. Try exploring more into that. Anyways thats just some of my thoughts.

You should go find an adventure. That's what I did.. I felt similar to the way you felt. Go out and find something. The worst that could happen is that you end up feeling the same way. But maybe you'll find something.

That's my ridiculously bad advice.
