You're half right on e (I don't ship Gabe and Cas romantically) and correct on h.

And more people know about K/S than I thought - I kind of want to write fic now, and also announce that Zahn himself said (he answers questions people ask him via Facebook, it's lovely) one of the books he has planned in the future involves the two of them. He didn't say if it was romantic or not, but I hope so.
