It may seem odd to preface your post with "well, i didn't die" but as those folks who saw me at Darkover can attest, i had a serious allergic attack.......

First of all, we did two things "new" this Darkover.
1.the vet no longer takes boarders, so we boarded Max, our German Shepherd dog, at a new place... which meant driving out of our way about ( Read more... )

no, i never keep track of where people live. you all live in the glass box on my desk, or at conventions.
i honestly dont know WHERE you live relative to anything i am at unless i get told, i am .... lets just call it directionally challanged and leave it at that.
sorry, if i had recalled that your "lives in Maryland i think" was near Darkover i would have called......

oh, and i just got news... i am having a feather from one of St Pio of Petrelcina 's pillows sent out with a prayer card for you. i hope to have it within a week...
prayers and hugs

You mentioned me already, but hello anyway ;-)

and *hugs*! Again, I'm sorry about the whole smoke thing (you mentioned it to me yesterday). Sorry I couldn't stay to help you load up; Sallie was completely worn out and needed to go home.

Even though you named me, I'll wave hello anyway. Thanks for the advice on the hairsticks and I, too, am glad you didn't die.

Glad your ok. I wish people would just stop smoking things, especially in doorways...

I always leave things behind when I really need them (puffers and passports mainly - actually, I don't think I have my puffer with me now :(
Hopefully this won't happen again, and next Darkover will be wonderful and without incident!)

Its nice you got some BPAL imps to try. I have seen people raving about them for ages!

the sad thing is, i KNOW how hard it can be to quit, i have helped people through quitting before.... the stuff is like cocaine.

but most of fandom that smokes are VERY polite...
i have run into a few jerks in the SCA who smoke, but even there, mostly very polite....
its the bleedin mundanes that seem to have no manners.

the problem with the "personal liberties " issues, is that you have all the rights in the world to smoke, as far as that goes... but i also have the right to NOT smoke, and not breathe your toxic fumes.
if you start framing it as a "liberty" issue, you are asking to lose, because the liberty to NOT indulge, especially with a health issue, mena an automatic weight to "no smoking in public access places"
