My guess is it's the drug combined with already present mental disturbance. What a horrific story though.

Or, as my husband and I were just talking about, it could be LSD. Cut with those drugs from the Caribbean that turn people into zombies.

If you have somebody to give them the order to act like the zombies from movies, you have a possibly very bad situation starting.

The issue in this case would be, what's the motive? If it's just to disturb the status quo or as a "practical joke", then this'll be over soon. If it's trying to figure out how to truly destroy society as we know it, then we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future.

That is, if this is what's happening, and it's not something else entirely. :\
