Diet Blog: healthy weight and food choices

first of all, don't expect to ever read anything positive about being unhealthily thin here. The goal is HEALTHY at whatever weight that happens to be.

while i won't say vanity has NO role in my ideas of health , fitness, and weight, its really about getting my knees to stop hurting, and my energy levels up to where they should be.

Do you have a glucose boost with you at all times? I do, and have never yet used it, but it's comforting to know that it's there. (I'm diabetic, not hypoglycemic, but I certainly have sugar crashes, or rather, did, before I came out of hospital and drastically cut carbs from my diet.)

Having a plan is the best way to succeed. Go, you!

Get oat flour into your baked goods. Oats are a better grain than wheat for glucose control and fine oat flour is invisible when mixed with standard wheat flour; you just need to up the water content a bit. Oat cakes are also a fantastic take anywhere room temp snack biscuit; one style has a shortbread like texture while other styles are cracker crisp or chewy cookie like.

the sesame calcium chews (figs, sesame, coconut etc are really good sounding

she uses honey, but if you object to honey ou could use a different sweetener (i adore honey)

I hear you 100%.

My weight has been a yo-yo since adolescence. I went from too skinny, to too chubby, to in between, to...etc etc.

When I was heavy the first time, I went on Weight Watchers online. With no supervision, I got anorexic. I got far too thin and obsessive about what I ate. Then I went the opposite a few years later. Then, it all came full circle again.

I've finally reached a good place where I'm eating whole, healthy, organic foods for my health and for my weight, but the health comes first. The extra weight fell off and I'm looking healthy. It all happened naturally. Focus on health, not skinniness, and the rest comes as it should.
