when Wayne and i finally got a house, we bought our freezers, fridge, washer and dryer from Sears...
they sure are trying to drive us away as customers, though....

That is one of the most outrageous things I've ever heard from a service person! Gaah!

Yeah. My fiancee's aunt bought us a Kenmore dishwasher and paid to have it installed. Apparently, there are few, if any, repair or install people actually employed BY Sears. They are all contractors now. We tried to schedule, waited on the appointed day only to be told they only intall on Wednesdays and Fridays. Fine. Call, can't get a person. Wait for a callback. Call again, leave message. Get a callback, "Oh, we don't go to your house. Another company might though." Call Sears, get them to hold the order. Call the original company back, schedule on a Friday. On which date they DO NOT SHOW UP. Reschedule. 6 weeks later, we get the dishwasher installed. I grew up on Sears products, but their service has gone to hell.

Oh, and I forgot the day they showed up to install the dishwasher they didn't bring with them.

I don't do business with KMart anymore. They may still say "Sears" on the outside, but it's KMart now. They don't honor the warranty on Crapsman tools anymore either. There's nothing of value to me left there.

This.

When K-Krap bought Sears, I was in shock. Den was still working big box, and said it was like Sears had bought them. Now it seems the craptacular service that the big K was infamous for has infiltrated Sears....

I actually stopped shopping there except for a very few things I couldn't get anywhere else when I stopped working there back in the mid-90s. They treated their employees like crap and I refused to give them my money if I didn't have to.

Wow..I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm in shock. I buy almost all my clothes at Sears and have always had really great service. I think Sears Canada is under different ownership, however.

I hope things get better for you soon!
