Yup, TOTALLY Understand that one. I went in full garb to a college speech class. It was my visual aid speech... It didn't go over well because the other students were little morons, and it was a lousy semester over all, (The fiance became both Ex, and dead.) but I still haven't forgiven THAT teacher for giving me a D in that class. That might be a "Passing" grade for others, but not in MY book!
blink, oh i am sure i can get a couple pics. i tried to take one out with my cell phone, but it was... uh. i think you see half my head and the wall...
so far i am all As, but i worry a lot.... and the one class that i REALLY worry about doesnt post mid term grades, so i dont know....
a D? ouch.... thats gotta hurt.i get all panicky about my grades in college because of my high school ....i pretty much barely passed.
i got a D in chemistry in high school, but mostly because the teacher was kind and knew i had tried really hard... that was the year they really messed me up. i got put in algebra 1 the same time i had chemistry. but you need algebra to take chemistry........ round and round she goes.
It hurt, and I was personally offended. I had more onstage personality and confidence in my little finger, than the rest of that class combined! (Not that he didn't have a point in that I'd missed quite a few classes after the ex-fiance died. It was a REALLY sucky semester!)
back in my thinner days i might have .... hey, its chain mail... right? and leather? we talked about those.... lol but waiting on the street for my ride home might have been a bit awkward, or more awkweard than it was anyway.
Names for fashions depend on who is doing the research and when and where it is from. I tend to use the French names for things (i.e. chemise instead of shift and corset instead of stays) because that's what my costume history teacher used. He was also insistent that it's chain armor or just maille and never chain mail as that's redundant. ;)
yes, but a houpeland is not "only for men" and tippets and hoods were not always sewn into womens gowns.... and for the love of all thats holy not all "sleeveless surcotes" were fur lined. oh, yes... and the extreme length of some of the pointy toed shoes? they were RARE, and they tied them up to walk in them.. they didnt stick straight out in front of people up to 4 feet.....

I think it sounds downright snazzy.
BTW, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I hope they can find out what's wrong and FIX IT!
