Just a note to say I'm gonna start doing some handstitching soon with some of that Linen thread I picked up at the store from Pennsic.

I'm just starting with handsewing!!

cool! i suspect you will be hooked soon. Now that i "know" i use silk thread on my protein fibers 9wool, silk) and linen thread on my plant fibers (cotton, linen) and it really makes it such a joy to sew when you use good threads!
Oh, if the linen ever gives you any trouble tangling or anything, then a quick swipe through some beeswax makes it behave very nicely. it isnt always desirable, and most linen behaves well since it is very stiff when new, but just so you know....
