[Leonhardt isn't the only one at the battle dome today. Joshua stopped by a little while ago as well, though not for the sake of venting about the situation so much as simply for training. Right now, though, he's taking a moment to rest up, lingering in the viewing area.
...He wasn't exactly expecting to see a familiar face present here as well, though. As his luck would have it, Joshua's in the viewing area a little while after Leonhardt starts his first scenario. Needless to say, that manages to catch the boy's attention - and not just because it's the lieutenant fighting.
That blue-haired man... he looks just like the professor. The resemblance is downright alarming, even. But it couldn't be... right?
...He's just... going to keep watching from the viewing area for a while. This is an awfully strange sight, to say the least.]
[And even stranger because the "professor" is showing he's quite capable of fighting. Even without his sword though, Leonhardt is doing perfectly fine against him and it is very obvious that whoever the man is, Leonhardt definitely has issue with him.
Unfortunately the "professor" teleports a distance away after that blow to the face and Leonhardt has to quickly bridge the distance again.
But really, quite peculiar for a swordsman to not be using his sword right now, right?]

[Right. He knows that the lieutenant's a capable swordsman - it's odd to see him fighting without it. But he's clearly holding his own just fine despite that handicap... it's almost a little terrifying, really.
Not that the professor's doing particularly badly, either, assuming it really is him. It's odd to see someone like him actually doing fine in a fight... but if Joshua's right about his identity, then why would Leonhardt choose him as his opponent for a simulation? It feels as if there's something he's missing here.
[And then the "professor" teleports away again after Leonhardt landed another blow to the face. He seems really obsessed especially with punching the man in the face too. He may not be as skilled as Zane, but really he's still doing pretty well.
He quickly casts Earth Guard Mk 2 and then goes after the man again. He's attacked with some magic but Earth Guard effectively guards against it. He goes after the blue-haired man again and knocks him down this time.
And of course Leonhardt is going to take advantage of this opening. And it is likely almost scary how much he seems to actually be almost enjoying this.]
[He would have passed right by without a sound if no one had been using the room next to his usual spot. Perhaps it was a contrived coincidence or 'excellent' timing on this part, but whatever the case, the chaotic sound of a battle being waged immediately went into his ears as he went past, making him stop and look back. Only a moment passes before curiosity gets the best of him, and he peers inside from the viewing area, taking note of the man -- I'm sorry, men -- fending off what seemed like mechanized monstrosities from his perspective.
His eyes were focused on the brunette and his duplicates, in particular. How in blazes is he doing that?]
[Unfortunately seeing him doesn't give much a clue as to how he is accomplishing this. Only that the duplicates are nearly as capable of harming the creatures as he is and they of course do not vanish when hit.
Only about two of them remain, well make that one since one of the men just sliced one in half and made it explode. The last one will be dealt with quickly enough and then he'll come out to the main area if Souji wants to ask about it.]
[Well, don't that just beat all. He'll take the time to note that sword as well, because metal should not be able to cut through other metals the way it did.
He promptly turns to face him.] Hey, do you have a moment?
[Of course it should not, but then Kernviter isn't exactly made of metal. But it would seem there were those watching. And that was exactly why he didn't even come close to using his full strength. He'll look at the one inquiring of him and is definitely trying to get a read of how strong or not this young man was.]
[Action] /rolls in from con hiatus because I wanted to tag him XDledbythewindSeptember 15 2011, 04:29:30 UTC
[Richard is pretty sure he's never seen this man in the Battle Dome before, or in fact anywhere else in Luceti, for that matter. It's clear that he's a skilled fighter, however, so Richard is just going to pause in what he's doing to watch the other fight, impressed by the man's skill.
... but wait, is that more than one of him in that simulation?]
[Action] No worries, late tags are awesome!eyesofpitySeptember 15 2011, 04:54:50 UTC
[Why yes, there is more than one of him. That sure isn't a trick of the eyes.
And at this point he brings it down to being two of the creatures left by cutting one in half and it explodes quite dramatically. The shadows present aren't quite as dramatic as he is, so that likely gives away pretty easily which one is the real one. Though they are definitely quite strong and it can even be seen that they can take a hit from the enemies and not vanish like normal illusions.]

Maybe he ought to ask later...]
