If I were a better person I would push myself to go to Open Mic Poetry tonight. But then I would have to find poems to read, get gas, get dressed. Blah me.
But at least today's TVT is a bit humorous rather than oh-so-serious! It is technically a re-post of a poem I posted yesterday at the
Merlin S5 Comment Fest in response to the prompt, "anything with the poetry reading meaning shagging shenanigans". (It's an awesome Comment Fest--check it out if you're up on Merlin!)

summary: Post 5x03. Leon understood what Arthur and Merlin meant when they said "poetry".
Reading Poetry
Leon knew about the poetry.
It went without saying that poetry
meant something a little different than
literal poetry. Leon noticed things.
Once on a spring hunt, he thought he could see
Arthur reading Merlin poetry behind some trees.
And once,
at camp in a neighboring land,
he didn’t see it, but definitely heard it.
Merlin's poetry can be a bit wordy.
At first, he thought it was just something
they did on quests and hunts, but
given their appreciation of curious locations
he shouldn't be surprised
that they might choose drafty castle corridors
for poetry.
It must be really good poetry,
Leon thought to himself, and kept to himself.
None of the other knights had quite caught on
until Mordred came along.
Now, he turned from Leon
toward a noise in the forest and said,
"Ah... they must be reading poetry again."
