Goodness, thank you so much for the lovely comment, which has left me quite blown away and thrilled :). I'm glad the summary worked as a hook to get you to read! Ever since On the Head of a Pin I kept wanting to find a way to make John holding out jive for me-- not that I don't have confidence in John, but it just HURT to think how much that revelation hurt Dean. It was really fun to try to thread all the plot through what we know that really happened in the episode. I do love writing John, and it was a special treat indeed to have him interacting with Castiel <3.

I love how you made Castiel fit to the events of IMToD perfectly, and the time travel was absolutely heart-breaking. (John seeing Mary making the deal for him was just... wow. *wibbles*) And Dean Van Halen! This is just friggin' amazing fic! ♥ ♥ ♥
