Firstly: Joe Mazzello and Martin McCann are the CUTEST. Joe posted an adorable photo of him and Martin in makeup, complete with adorable caption. I commented, and Martin replied, essentially confirming that they have the most adorablest bromance ever! See???

The subplot of Richard Picardo's (who is AMAZING) character was really fascinating, and taught Raylan a lesson in a kind of startling way.
So true! Personally, this subplot hit me like a punch to the gut! I literally burst out in tears out of nowhere when the shot of the ash jars rolled in. :X Picardo was just so perfect, it was one of the best moments of the show for me, so far <3

When he moved out ON HIS OWN (stop that, SPEIRS) to check the fortifications in the hills, I was watching through my fingers, going OH GOD OH GOD DON'T DIE
I kept thinking that since this show can't seem to have any proper leaders sticking around for more than 5 minutes, he was bound to get killed at any second!

Aw, wow! It was powerful for sure. When they were in the car and he was like "I think you'll be pleasantly surprised", now I look back on that and I just feel pity - he's so wrapped up in hatred and revenge, but he doesn't see it. Such a tragic life. Amazingly played by a very talented actor.

Well, it's history, so MAYBE HALDANE SURVIVED? *crosses fingers* It's weird in scenes like the airfield crossing, where you know Sledge can't get hit because, well, I know he wrote about more of Peleliu and the rest of the war, so it's like he's charmed while everyone is getting hit. But if he had gotten hit (especially killed), then we wouldn't even be seeing his story. It's a weird circular logic thing that I'm always conscious of while watching. You can't just say "Oh, Hollywood, making your main characters immune while all the background players die" because this is how it actually went down!

I think it really says something about the way this show is doing things that after that story we weren't supposed to get a feeling of relief or some other happy feeling that he's only buying them to burn them, and that afterwards we have the scene with Raylan going to call off Boyd in his search for stuff to put Arlo away. Even if in the end he doesn't let go just now (or ever), it's proof of this show's quality.

It's a weird circular logic thing that I'm always conscious of while watching.
Exactly! But that logic makes me even more scared for the fight scenes, especially the ones with Leckie, since I liked all the other guys better than him, but knew they were 100% more likely to be killed. :\

Thank you for posting all that about Justified and The Pacific because you said it so very well -- and now I don't have to. What you said!

Haha, oh! I thought I was rather rambly and incoherent, but maybe that suits your opinions too! :D Glad to be of service, hee.

If they would actually do something with Jacob Pitts on Justified, I think I'd die of happiness. I really, really hope they do.
