I will read the second one, but I don't think I can handle it right at this moment, so I will just say that the first one makes me cry tears of happy, and that the article is pretty much, THEY FELL IN LOVE AS TEENAGERS. Which is just. OH BOYS. <3 <3 <3

And yes, that second article is Vry Srs Bzns and definitely worth a read, but gird yourself up for it - it is sickening.

See, I don't understand DADT in any way, shape or form, I mean, I GET it, but I don't understand why it's an issue ANYWHERE. We've had the ban lifted here since 1992, so gays not being allowed openly in the military isn't something I'm used to.

Yeah, I - don't understand it either, but I am far too familiar with the people and the attitude it springs from. It's pretty sickening *and* baffling. This is what we spend our energy on arguing? Yeeeah. And people wonder why I want to become an expat.

It's like people who argue that gay marriage will undermine the heteros & the institution of marriage. UM, HOW? Also I think the heteros are doing that job well enough themselves.
